Technologies
You have several redundant web servers, geographically distributed. You want for web users to be transparently connected to the nearest server for speed. Furthermore, if a server encounters a problem, it should automatically be removed from service until it has been repaired.
You have several identical web servers, all on the same LAN. You want to build a server cluster which looks like one virtual server, but with high throughput and high availability. Removing a faulty server from the cluster must be automatic and quick; and adding a new server to the cluster must be simple.
