Application Layer Firewall
An application-layer firewall (ALF) is a method which OES delivers to protect web servers, application servers, and database servers from attacks and software bugs. As with a standard firewall, the concept is to insert an intermediate server before the web site or application. The advantage the ALF provides is a full understanding of web protocols, allowing powerful control over what data is allowed to enter or exit the web system.
