Installing DiskSafe is a simple task. A first-time install typically requires approximately fifteen minutes. Experienced users can install DiskSafe in a few minutes. The standard installation method follows this procedure:
Procedure 2.1. Typical DiskSafe Installation
Completely install an operating system and software onto one prototype computer. There must be only one partition which spans the entire disk.
Cleanly shut down the computer. (To increase DiskSafe installation speed, defragment the C: drive before shutting down.)
Boot from the DiskSafe CD-ROM
Answer all prompts regarding the new operating system and data drive size (choosing "Automatic" will skip the prompts and use standard values)
Wait a few moments while the software adjusts the disk and installs itself
Currently, DiskSafe supports all standard versions of Microsoft operating systems. The typical method of installing DiskSafe is first to install the primary operating system on the entire disk drive. Next, boot from the DiskSafe CD-ROM and answer a few questions about exactly how to install.
DiskSafe May Erase Data
Installing DiskSafe can permanently erase the contents of your hard disk drive. Always install DiskSafe on a prototype computer with no important data.
