Disk Safe ver 2.0 - Documentation
Upgrading is simply re-installing DiskSafe onto a system which already has a copy on the hard disk. This can be useful for a few reasons:
-
Easily upgrading to new DiskSafe releases
Upgrading when purchasing more seat licenses
-
Changing the administrator password if you have forgotten it
After booting from the CD-ROM, DiskSafe checks to see if it is already installed on the system. If it is, you will the prompt from Figure A.9, "The Upgrade Prompt". Selecting the Upgrade option will install the DiskSafe version that is on the CD-ROM. All of the previous options will be saved with the exception that you will be prompted for a new password.
If you wish not to keep any options from the current DiskSafe installation, select the Fresh option to perform a fresh install. A good technique is to use the default value for the enter the primary operating system ("100%"), since it is already an appropriate size.
